Upcoming Events at aMuse'um!
Fire Safety Program, Wednesday, Oct. 9
The City of Columbia Fire Department will be performing a puppet show on fire safety during fall break! The show begins at 10:30 a.m. and plan to stay afterward to see their truck in our back parking lot. Free for members, $5/nonmembers.
After School Drop In Program
Do you ever need just a few extra hours in the afternoons for appointments or to take older children to sports or after school activities? We can help! Beginning Oct. 15, aMuse'um will be open in the afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-5:30 for drop-offs. We'll even have a tutor on hand to help with homework! The cost for the three hours is $10/child. Members get a $2 discount for additional siblings and a $25 family maximum. Note--we will not have the After School Drop In program on Halloween, Oct. 31 or on Thursday, Oct. 17, when we will be participating in the Main Street Uncorked event. Call the museum for more details.
Mini Manners Classes
Local etiquette expert and former educator Ruth Richardson will be teaching a Mini Manners class for children ages 4-6 at aMuse'um! The class will focus on table manners, how to meet and be a good friend, showing respect for others, and telephone manners. This 4-session class will be held on Monday afternoons from 3:15-4:15 and will involve a story and corresponding craft. Class dates are Oct. 21 & 28 and Nov. 4 and 11. A letter will be sent home after each session describing the highlights of each class. The cost for the Mini Manners experience is $60 per student, with a cap of 8 students. Please contact the museum to reserve your spot!
Ron & Friends
Local favorite Ron Rogers will be performing at aMuse'um on Sat. Nov. 2 at 6:30. This performance is FREE and promises to be a great evening of music. A love offering for the museum will be taken at the event.
Llama Llama Party
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 23rd for our annual Llama Llama party! Feel free to wear your red pajamas and we'll serve breakfast, read books from the Llama Llama series, and have a LIVE llama in the museum for petting and photos. The fun begins at 9 a.m. and the cost is $5/members and $7/non-members.
The National Math Club
MATHCOUNTS is coming to aMuse'um! The National Math Club is the MATHCOUNTS club program that helps build confidence in students of all ability and interest levels by giving them the opportunity to engage in unique math activities in a relaxed, social setting. This program is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and will meet at the museum on a regular basis. Please contact the museum by email or by phone if your child is interested in participating this fall.
